The American Walnut tree has very decorative and noble heartwood with a deep dark brown to violet-black colour. The sapwood will be greyish brown to light yellow. American Walnut in 2 grades
We offer American Walnut parquets in “Classic” or “Standard” grades, depending on the type of floor. Both grades will exhibit the natural colouring and typical texture of American Walnut wood.
“Classic” is a mixed grade containing boards with few knots and boards with small to fairly large knots. The floorboards may contain a small percentage of sapwood.
The “Sapwood” grade will have small to medium sized knots, sometimes repaired, and a large and conspicuous percentage of sapwood.
Floorboards made from American Black Cherry
American Black Cherry occurs naturally in Central and North America and in Canada. This relatively slim tree may grow to a height of 30 metres. It is coloured somewhat darker, compared to the European Cherry: Its heartwood is reddish brown, with reddish-white sapwood on the outside.
